Off to the North Pole

We haven't done the North Pole Cruise since before kids! The last time was when we went for George's work! Last week when I got a text from George's friend Brett inviting us to go I was so excited! I was having a hard time convincing George that it would be fun! But when Brett asked George would never say No!  So tickets were purchased and the day we were going to go we surprised the kids!

The cruise is fun, you travel around the lake and eventually get to the "North Pole" where Danta is waiting to have a chat with all the kids!  Both Kiersten and Katelyn were super excited that there names got on the good list! 

Such a good time with great friends, as always thanks for the invite Brett and Tami! 

Paws Recognition

Kiersten got recognized at the assembly today for being nominated for a PAWS. She got nominated because she was spotted holding the door for someone coming into the school without being asked! I love this kid and she was so excited and shocked that she was going to get to go up in front of the school at the assembly!

Carver Farms for trees

Every year we either go to carver farms or Greenbluff for Christmas trees! This year we went to carver farms and grandma Kate and grandpa Den got to come along with us. They don't get to do this with us very often so it's always an adventure and we love to have them along. Once we picked out our tree we came home and decorated it! While we where at Carver Farms Kaitlyn was pretty set on her own tree! It really was just her size. If only we had room for two trees I may have purchased it for her!

The kids had an amazing time picking out their tree and coming home and decorating the house and the tree for Christmas.

She lost a tooth and was so excited!! Bloody smile and all! 

Thanksgiving 2014

This year we are doing thanksgiving at our house! I have to take call one week every six weeks and this happens to be the week I'm on call. Therefore it's just our little family! My parents went to Mexico for Thanksgiving and George's family is staying in Horseshoe Bend! Although it was just us it was a very peaceful and fun day of cooking and family time! I baked a couple pies, and cooked up a turkey brining the day before! And the day I have George smoked the turkey for a little over six hours… It turned out delicious! And the best thing about having Thanksgiving at our house… We have leftovers!

We also did the ritual of playing Yahtzee with the kids! It's a great game especially for a Kiersten who's learning her math this year! 

And George night ended the day watching a chick flick with the candles lit… I could live by candlelight. I just love it!

First Snow 2014

We have had a skiff of snow the last couple mornings and every year I'm reminded by my kids how special the first snow is! We literally had like a cm on the ground and katelyn was in awe!

Grandma came up to visit

Grandma Kate and Carson came up to visit us this month! We had a great time we went bowling in the neon lights, and we got to go to the new McEwan park downtown Coeurdalene!

Happy Halloween 2014

This year I wasn't quite sure what my girls are going to be for Halloween! I figured Kiersten would want to be a princess… Frozen has been on our mind ever since it came out! Kiersten loves Elsa and Katelyn loves Anna! But instead, Kiersten decided they needed to be the same thing and a Bat Fairy was what she picked out! So here are our matching girls!  The girls were most excited about wearing make up! We put make up on Kiersten and we "put" makeup on Katelyn!  Then George blew it when he got home and wanted to know why Katelyn didn't get any make up but Kiersten did! At that point we had to redo Katelyn's make up.
